By simply using their fee-free debit card for a non-PIN or signature-based transaction, Salem Five customers enjoy the cash back benefit. Customers who opt for debit cards are enrolled in the program at account opening. Cash rewards automatically post to statements at the end of the account cycle at a rate of $0.005 for every $1.00 purchase.
In addition to never charging for using foreign ATMs worldwide, Salem Five Gold Star Checking customers also receive unlimited reimbursement of other banks’ ATM surcharges; Star Checking and Smart Student Checking customers are reimbursed for ATM fees up to $15 each month.
“As a modern mutual bank, Salem Five has built its products around customers’ needs, not ours,” said Janis Dodge, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking at Salem Five. “Listening to the needs of the banking consumer is our priority, and our cash back debit cards, free ATMS and other customer-centric products allow us to deliver personal banking solutions that serve the community, not shareholders.”
