Online digital signatures; Advancing the student housing industry; Ease-of-use benefits residents and guarantors alike.

Campus Advantage, a higher education services company, today announced it has partnered with Property Solutions to launch online leasing with digital signatures. The new service provides ease-of-use to residents and guarantors, further advancing the student housing industry.

“For a while now, many in the student housing industry claimed to have online leasing, but what it really meant was emailing lease documents, printing them off and then faxing or emailing back signed copies,” said Tonya Neumeier, Vice President of Management Services for Campus Advantage. “With our partner, Property Solutions, we are able to provide our residents and guarantors true online leasing capabilities with digital signatures in a secure environment.

“This capability helps residents avoid delays in completing a lease themselves as well as removes obstacles for guarantors who usually live hundreds of miles away,” said Neumeier. “Now we can simply email a secure link to the resident and guarantor and the entire leasing process can be completed within 15 minutes.”

For Kenneth Arndt and his son David, digitally signed leasing made perfect sense. “I live in the Chicago area, so it was very beneficial that I didn’t have to drive nine-plus hours just to sign a few papers for my son’s new apartment at University Crossing at Kansas State University,” said Kenneth Arndt. “Being able to complete everything over the Internet not only saved time, but hundreds of dollars in travel expense and I didn’t have to take time off of work.

“It was a significant value-add,” said Arndt. “Overall, it was a very easy to use, navigating the website was very easy, it clearly stated which parts I needed to initial and sign, and I knew how much I had left to complete. It was nice having the option of saving my work and coming back to it if I hadn’t completed it yet.

“I would definitely recommend the online signing process to people searching for apartments from a distance and I would also recommend it to local people as well because it is quick, easy, and convenient,” said Arndt.

“Property Solutions developed online leases with e-signatures to help property managers reduce their paper usage, improve their ability to forecast renewals, and save time spent on data entry,” said Dave Bateman, CEO of Property Solutions. “Campus Advantage worked with us in the process to optimize key technical features. We’re excited to have them as a partner and eager to see how student housing will adopt this new tool.”

“Finding new and better solutions for our current and future residents are hallmarks of Campus Advantage,” said Neumeier. “From beginning to end, we strive to provide our residents a top-quality student housing experience.”
