AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company last week held its second annual women’s summit here, “Growing Your Passion and Living Your Purpose,” aimed at inspiring and empowering women in their lives as well as at work and featuring keynote speaker Margaret Brennan of Bloomberg Television.

“Hundreds of women made connections and reflected on ways they can grow their passion and connect it with purpose to do more – more personally and more professionally,” said Christopher M. “Kip” Condron, chairman and CEO of AXA Equitable and head of the global Life & Savings business lines for AXA Group. “We were thrilled to host a forum that explored those opportunities and provided a platform for frank discussions about challenges and how to overcome them.”

More than 450 women attended the summit at the AXA Equitable auditorium in midtown Manhattan. Hundreds of others participated through a live webcast from the company’s major office locations and AXA Advisors branches around the country. Participants heard from talented and inspirational women leaders from the diverse disciplines of education, financial services, retail, and staffing and consulting as well as from Ms. Brennan.

“It was an honor to speak at AXA Equitable’s women’s summit,” said Ms. Brennan, who anchors Bloomberg Television’s daily program, “InBusiness with Margaret Brennan.” “I enjoyed sharing how taking a leap of faith for new opportunities has helped me grow my career, and I hope the individuals in the audience were inspired by the day’s program to follow their passions – even if it means taking some risks.”

Nicole Lewis, vice president of Global Marketing for Kelly Services, moderated a panel including Jennifer Blevins, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for AXA Equitable; Mary Flowers, vice president of Global Associate Communications for Wal-Mart; and Medea McEvoy, founding principal of the East Side Elementary School, PS 267, NYC Department of Education.

The summit is a component of AXA Equitable’s women’s empowerment and education program – The AXA Equitable Connection – Women, Wealth and Wisdom (The Connection). The mission of The Connection is to make AXA Equitable the first company women think of when seeking financial guidance and services, as well as the company that attracts, develops and retains the most talented women in the industry.
